Practice Pitch and Draft Treatments

In yesterday's session we gave a practice pitch of our group's documentary film idea.

I was really pleased that we were so prepared and were able to answer the questions that we received after the pitch, and I was really pleased that so many people thought it was an interesting subject.

Our group had a meeting at the end of the session and discussed what else was to go into the treatment ready for the proper pitch next week.

I have taken all these notes on board and am putting together a more complete draft treatment which we will discuss at our next Production Meeting on Monday.

Here is the draft of the treatment for the poetic film as it stands at the moment.

I have mentioned in the treatment the films that are influences on our project, and a film that I made last year with a similar rhythm to our poetic piece, here are the links to those films:

That’s Football  Prod: Carl Ross (1994)

There’s Only One Barry Fry  Dir: Ron Trickett (1997)

The Undiscovered Country  Dir: Paul Manning (2012)

This is the draft treatment for the ten minute film as it stands at the moment:

I'm really pleased with the way that the project is going, and I am glad that I'm in such an enthusiastic group.  I've done a huge amount of work on the project so far (and enjoyed every minute of it) and know that in the role of producer this will go on until way after the film has been screened.  I enjoy the producer's role but it makes the job even better when all the other group members are coming up with ideas and inputting suggestions, I feel supported and it feels like a real team effort.
