Production Meeting and Rushes Review, 27 February 2013

The whole crew met up for a Production Meeting on Wednesday to discuss the rushes from the first days filming with Joe (Editor), to review how things are going so far and to confirm plans for this weekends filming and the Wolverhampton filming.

First item on the agenda was Joe's review of the rushes:

Here are Joe's notes on the interview (Tango Man in Hillsborough Club): 
- background too bland
- Tango Man's position was too flat to the back wall, looked unnatural and uncomfortable
- he talks too fast, says "erm" a lot
- mic cable should be under shirt
- needs to introduce himself

We all agreed with this.  I have made notes on my copy of the questions and production notes, Hannah (Director) has made note to check position and location, and to reword questions, Jacob (Camera) is going to double check, and be more conscious of, shot and background and Luke (Sound) is going to listen out for clarity and "erms".

 I have arranged with Tango Man that we will be filming the interview and street scene at each home game and again in Wolverhampton, so we have two more chances to film each scene with Tango Man.  (For other interviewees we only get one chance, so it was good to review these first rushes and learn from them.) 

It was also handy having the interview session in our module on Monday.  We learned a lot about checking camera set up, framing, sound and backgrounds.

Footage Outside Stadium review notes from Joe:

- Shaky when walking.  Use strap when re-filming on Saturday and Monday
- Extend the walking scene and experiment with backgrounds
- Re-film turning and standing under SWFC sign.  Get close up instead of mid shot

The long shots from 'cliffe, and crowds leaving stadium shots were good

We need more 'atmospheric' stadium shots (scheduled to film on Saturday)   

We need to film more footage inside stadium.  For Saturdays filming Jacob has booked out HD Filp cameras.

NB - I have negotiated clearances to use two videos of Tango Man that have been posted on YouTube by two different people in return for a mention in the credits.

Agenda item 2 - Wolverhampton Filming

In the meeting we went through our timetables and availabilities and made a list of our preferred dates for travelling to Wolverhampton and filming and Monday was the best day for us all.  I contacted Tango and sought his availabilities and Monday suited all parties better than any other day so we have planned filming Tango at home and at work for Monday 04 March.

Item 3 - Equipment

Jacob, Luke , Hannah and I drew up an equipment list and Jacob and Luke have booked the equipment for Saturday and Monday with stores.  We will be meeting at SHU to travel to Wolverhampton and I have said that I will meet Jacob and help him with carrying the lights etc.

Item 4 - Schedule for Saturday   

Hannah has drawn up a list of shots that she would like to film on Saturday and I have produced a schedule and shot list.
